MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Friday morning, at approximately 7:50 a.m., the Indiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 at County Road 800 South, which injured a Waynetown man.

Preliminary investigation by Master Trooper Randy Pryor revealed that a 1998 Dodge pickup truck driven by 52 year old Grace P. Lane of Peru was traveling southbound on U.S. 31.

Lane attempted to turn eastbound onto County Road 800 South, when she struck a northbound 2005 Ford Explorer driven by 62 year old James L. Woodall of Waynetown in the driver side door.

The impact caused the Ford to travel off the road, coming to rest in a ditch northeast of the intersection.

Woodall was transported, by Life Line Helicopter, to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with neck and back injuries. Lane was not injured.

Master Trooper Pryor was assisted at the crash scene by ISP Captain Ed Schroder, ISP Corporal Phil Loos, the Miami County Sheriff’s Department, Bunker Hill Fire Department, Grissom Fire Department, Pipe Creek Fire Department, and Miami County EMS.
