Marion man arrested on drug possession

MARION, Ind. (WANE) - A Marion man is arrested Wednesday afternoon for possession of marijuana and firearms.

Undercover officers from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section got information that 31 year old Adan Lopez was dealing in marijuana.  They found a significant amount of the illegal drug at his house.

Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division detectives from the Redkey District, and undercover officers obtained a search warrant from Grant County Superior Court 1.

Lopez was at home during the search warrant, and officers located an 11.5 pound brick of marijuana, two handguns, and a shotgun. He was arrested without incident.

Lopez was preliminarily charged with:

• Dealing in marijuana over 10 pounds, a class “C” felony.

• Possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, a class “B” felony.

He was taken to the Grant County Jail and held without bond.

Grant County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit, Joint Effort Against Narcotics Team (J.E.A.N Team), and Marion Police Department assisted in the investigation.
