DANVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- - A central Indiana man has pleaded not guilty to charges he
fatally stabbed his estranged wife with a steak knife while her
daughters slept beside her.
Forty-one-year-old Joseph L. Warnock of Brownsburg was being
held without bond in the Hendricks County Jail after his initial
court appearance. Prosecutors charged him Wednesday with murder and
invasion of privacy for violating a temporary protective order
granted to his wife.
Warnock is accused of killing his 38-year-old wife, Angela
Warnock, who filed for divorce Friday.
Authorities say his daughters, ages 8 and 12, were not
injured in the attack Sunday and hid until their father left their
home in the western Indianapolis suburb of Brownsburg.
Warnock was arrested Monday following a manhunt.
The judge gave Warnock 20 days to hire an attorney.
