INDIANAPOLIS (WANE) -- The Indianapolis Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is hoping the public can help identify the man who they said robbed four banks in three states, five people and used their stolen credit cards in roughly the last month.
According to the FBI, the bank robberies occurred in Lansing, IL, Munster, IN, South Bend, IN and Toldeo, OH. This crime spree started on December 18, 2011 with the most recent incident happening in Toledo on January 26, 2012 around 2:45 p.m. The FBI said the suspect did show a black handgun in those incidents.
The FBI released photos from that robbery that clearly shows the suspect. He is described as a black man, possibly in his 40s or 50’s, wearing light color jeans, tan work boots, aviator sunglasses and a blue or black winter-type toboggan hat.
Witnesses said he was driving a 2010-2011 White Nissan Maxima with a sunroof and Illinois plates with a possible cracked rear driver’s side taillight.
Due to the location of the crimes and their proximity to I-80/94, the FBI believes he commits his crimes near that roadway.
The FBI hopes the public can assist them in identifying the suspect.
Anyone with information about this man is asked to contact the FBI, Indianapolis Division at 317-595-4000.
