HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - Huntington Police are searching for a man who robbed the Walgreens late Monday night.

Around 10 p.m., police said a man entered the store, walked to the pharmacy area and demanded prescription medication, and then ran off.

The robbery occurred just minutes before closing.

Huntington Police Chief E.J. Carroll said the man threatened to use a gun but never actually showed a weapon.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of medication. Carroll did not know what types of medication the man demanded or what he was given.

No injuries were reported.

Police were attempting to locate the suspect using K-9 units.

Investigators are looking for a white male, approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall, with medium-length dark hair who was wearing dark cargo pants and a wool hooded coat. Carroll said the man was also wearing white shoes, had a baseball cap, and wore dark framed glasses.

Carroll told NewsChannel 15 the man has two distinct stud piercings in his lower lip.

Walgreens surveillance captured several images of the man inside the store. Carroll said police were checking with other business owners in the area to see if their security cameras picked the suspect up when he left on foot.

"We have some businesses in the area who have really good cameras," Carroll told NewsChannel 15.

Carroll said the Walgreens in Huntington had not seen a robbery in several years.

"We have officers who routinely check on businesses overnight to help keep employees and customers safe," Carroll said.

Anyone with information should contact the Huntington Police Department at (260) 356-7110.

The incident remains under investigation by the Huntington Police Department, the Huntington County Sheriff's Department, and the Warren Police Department.
