Authorities wrap up their on scene investigation

Grant Co., Ind. (WANE) - Investigators in Grant County returned to the scene where they found human remains Thursday morning. The site is a field just a couple miles west of Marion off County Road 600 North near County Road 380. The county coroner was also at the scene collecting evidence.

Authorities said Friday there's no new information at this time, but Friday afternoon, police wrapped up part of their investigation at the scene.

Prior to closing down the active scene, authorities, as well as the Grant County Coroner, spent time Thursday and Friday collecting the evidence that could be beneficial to Noblesville Police. Noblesville Police got involved in the case because they believe there's enough relevant evidence that could be linked to Dorothy Heard, 74, of Noblesville, who went missing June of last year.

Once the sun went down, the Grant County Coroner's Office was seen driving away from the scene and investigators took down the crime scene tape.

NewsChannel 15 tried to contact the coroner, but our calls were not returned.
