HARLAN, Ind. (WANE) - Detectives from the Allen County Sheriff's Department are investigating an armed robbery at the Harlan Quick Stop.

Shortly before 11 Wednesday night, a man walked into the Marathon gas station, pointed a gun, and demanded cash from the night manager and another employee.

The man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. The manager told NewsChannel 15 he had just made a drop in the safe and only a small amount of cash remained in the register.

Allen County Sheriff Officer Adam Griffith said police are looking for a male suspect, approximately 5-foot 6-inches tall and wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt. The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and white gloves. He had some type of black mask covering the lower portion of his face.

The manager said the suspect also had blonde hair and blue eyes and thought the man was in his 40s.

After taking money, the suspect fled on foot. The New Haven Police Department and a K-9 unit attempted to track the suspect but were unable to locate anyone. Griffith said he was not sure if the suspect continued on foot or might have got into a vehicle.

In Sept. of this year , the same gas station was also robbed at gunpoint by two individuals.

The lone gas station in Harlan has an extensive security system in-and-around the building. Detectives hope a copy of the robbery will lead to an arrest.
