FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police say five robbers fired shots at a grocery store in the south side of Fort Wayne Sunday night.
According to police, five men wearing dark clothing and black ski masks walked into Ramarn Asian Grocery, located at 5824 Decatur Road.
All of the suspects were armed with black handguns, according to police.
One of the suspects told a victim behind the counter to put her hands up and head down on the counter. The victim told police she was told, "don't look or we will shoot." The suspect took the entire cash register from behind the counter and fired a shot into the security camera. He then hit the woman in the head with his pistol and all of the suspects fled the store.
Police said the amount of money the suspects got away with is unknown at this time.
Officers said they followed fresh footprints in the snow that led to Hanna Street. Police found part of the cash register and a roll of receipt tape at the corner of South Hanna Street and Burns Drive, with the help of a police dog.
Police said it appears the robbers got into a car and drove away. A neighbor told police he had seen a white 1990’s Cadillac sedan parked there before the robbery occurred.
