FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Police Department successfully retrieved four barricaded subjects early Tuesday morning.
Around 9:15 p.m., police said a woman called from the Burger King on Spy Run Avenue that she had been battered.
According to police, the woman left before they arrived.
Investigators were able to gather information from witnesses that led them to a house in the 2400 block of North Clinton Street behind the Burger King. When attempting to make contact with the individuals inside, they refused to come outside.
At that time, the police department contacted the Crisis Response Team and Emergency Services Team.
Several attempts were made over a loudspeaker asking those inside to surrender to police.
Shortly after midnight, an adult female, two adult males, and a juvenile surrendered to police without incident, according to Fort Wayne police spokesperson Jason Anthony.
Police did not say if any weapons were involved or inside the home.
Detectives are interviewing all the persons involved and will decide if charges will be filed, according to Anthony.
Because of the situation, southbound Clinton Street was closed between Grove Street and State Boulevard for about two hours.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
