SYRACUSE, Ind. (WANE) Police arrested three adults and one juvenile Friday morning in Syracuse after officers said the four stole from a vehicle overnight.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to a home on Backwater Road in North Webster after a citizen called to report that his vehicle had been broken into. As deputies were headed toward North Webster, the victim stated that he noticed four male individuals walking along State Road 13 north of town.
A short time later, a Syracuse police officer located the four males near the intersection of Huntington Street and Medusa Street on the south side of Syracuse. Police said one of the men had a bag that contained items described by the victim as being stolen.
All four subjects denied any knowledge of the items and the theft and were taken into custody.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested the following three adult males and preliminarily charged them with theft:
Brandan Parker Lajoice, 18, North Webster
Rice Islas, 18, North Webster
Jacob Bonds Honea, 18, Leesburg
Bond for each was set at $2,000.
The fourth male involved was a juvenile who was released to his parents. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s detectives are currently investigating whether the four people have any connection with the recent rash of thefts from vehicles that occurred in the lake regions of northern Kosciusko County this summer.
