Former teacher pleads guilty to sexual misconduct with a minor

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A former Edgewood Middle School teacher and coach pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old former student.

Tyler J. Baatz, 26, was charged with sexual misconduct with a minor in August after he admitted to police to having an inappropriate relationship with the 14-year-old.

The student told police she had a personal relationship with the eighth grade Edgewood Middle School teacher that started in the 2011-2012 school year and continued into the summer of 2012.

Baatz's sentencing is scheduled for December 20.
