Five arrested for buying drug commonly used to make meth

CELINA, Ohio (WANE) - Police arrested five people in Celina, Ohio Monday after they purchased large amounts of Pseudoephedrine.

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant found in cold medicines. The drug is commonly used to make meth.

Police arrested the following people after an investigation by the Grand Lake Task Force:

  • Christopher Brockman, 33, C/O Mercer County Adult Detention Facility, on six counts of Unlawful Purchase of Pseudoephedrine Product
  • Christopher Steinbrunner, 41, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, on two counts of Unlawful Purchase of Pseudoephedrine Product
  • Elizabeth Craw, 25, of Celina, Ohio, on one count of Unlawful Purchase of Pseudoephedrine Product
  • Joshua Wymer, 29, of New Weston, Ohio, on three counts of Unlawful Purchase of Pseudoephedrine Product
  • Jason Bruggeman, 31, of New Weston, Ohio, on two counts of Unlawful Purchase of Pseudoephedrine Products

According to police, all of the counts are first degree misdemeanors.

Police say it is unlawful to knowingly purchase, receive, or otherwise acquire more than nine grams of any pseudoephedrine product within a 30 consecutive day period.
