FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is seeking information on a sexual assault that occurred at the bridge near Lower Huntington Road at Tillman Road on the Rivergreenway.
Police said a female jogger was assaulted while she was running at around 11 a.m. Saturday morning. An initial report stated a passing motorist was able to intervene and disrupt the assault. NewsChannel 15 learned on Monday it was in fact another jogger that intervened and stopped the assault.
Police gave the following details on the suspect involved in the assault:
The suspect was last seen running northbound from the bridge along the Rivergreeway.
Due to the nature of this incident and the time of day, it is believed that the suspect may have entered nearby apartments or may have been seen furtherdown the Rivergreenway by other citizens.
