RICHMOND, Ind. (WANE) - Excise police handed out eight citations and one warning notice to four bars in Richmond on Tuesday. Investigators said underage people were served alcohol on several different occasions.

Walker’s Nightclub, 1117 E. Main Street, was issued two notices of violation as a result of two incidents. The bar is alleged to have allowed in an 18-year-old female on January 1 and a 19-year-old female on May 27.

Main Street Bar & Grill, 1029 E. Main Street, was issued three notices of violation. A female was allegedly found dancing in a state of nudity on April 14. The bar is alleged to have allowed in a 19-year-old male on April 29. On June 13, the bar is alleged to have allowed in and served alcoholic beverages to a 20-year-old male.

Knuckleheads Pub & Grub, 1032 E. Main Street, was issued a notice of violation for allegedly allowing in a 19-year-old male on April 28.

E Street Pub, 815 N. E Street, was issued two notices of violation and a notice of warning. E Street Pub is alleged to have allowed in an 18-year-old female on February 4. On April 6, the bar allegedly allowed in an 18-year-old male. A warning was issued for an incident on June 7, during which a 19-year-old male used his brother’s ID to enter to bar.

All eight violations will be forwarded to the Alcohol & Tobacco Commission’s prosecutor for review. Violations may result in a fine, suspension of the alcoholic beverage permit or, in certain circumstances, revocation of the permit.

“The state excise police will continue to investigate complaints on permit locations from Richmond PD and other law enforcement agencies in order to ensure that alcoholic beverages are not accessible to underage persons,” Superintendent Matt Strittmatter said. “The permit holders have a responsibility by law to ensure that persons entering bars, taverns and package stores are at least 21 years of age.”
