NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Excise police officers arrested 72 people on 99 charges over the weekend at the University of Notre Dame.
Police said they arrested 31 people on Friday and 41 people during the tailgate before Notre Dame's football game against the University of Michigan on Saturday.
18 adults were arrested for giving alcohol to minors.
Most of the 99 charges consisted of illegal consumption or possession of alcohol, possession of a false ID, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and false informing. There was also one drug-related charge and two charges for resisting law enforcement.
Police said a girl under the age of 21 was arrested after she fell down in front of them in the tailgating lot. She had a BAC of .20%.
Saturday's tailgating arrests are up from five people arrested on nine charges during Notre Dame’s home football game against Purdue on Saturday, September 8.
