BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested 188 people over three days at Indiana University-Bloomington.

Police said excise officers arrested 18 people on Thursday, 50 people on Friday, and 110 people on Saturday.

Saturday, September 15 was the Indiana University football game against Ball State University. Officers said they arrested 106 minors for illegal consumption or possession of alcohol, including eight people who were less than 18 years old.

This is the first time in history that excise officers have arrested 110 people on 129 charges during a tailgate at any Indiana college or university.

Police said they arrested an additional 10 people after the game too.

“Regulating the distribution of alcohol is crucial to public safety. Our agency will continue to ensure the access of alcohol to minors is limited," Indiana State Excise Police Superintendent Matt Strittmatter said.

Most of the charges included illegal possession, consumption of alcohol, furnishing alcohol to a minor, possession of false ID,  public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
