Domestic dispute ends with drug charges

BUTLER, Ind. (WANE) - Police in Butler have charged a man on several drug related counts after finding a marijuana growing operation inside his home.

On Wednesday, Butler police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of North Park Lane around 3:10 p.m.

According to a police report, police spotted what they believed to be as a marijuana cigarette in plain view. After receiving written consent to search the home, offices found the growing operation.

Investigators found lighting, timers, and drug paraphernalia inside the home, according to the report.

Officers charged Jack L. Porter, 47, Butler, on the following charges:

  • Possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, class B felony
  • Possession of marijuana over 30 grams, class D felony
  • Maintaining a common nuisance, class D felony
  • Possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanor
  • Dealing marijuana, class A misdemeanor
