LAGRANGE, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Fort Wayne Post arrested a LaGrange man at his home Thursday afternoon for alleged possession of child pornography.

According to State Police, a complaint was filed with the Indiana State Police after an employee at a computer repair service observed what was believed to be child pornography on the computer of a customer as he was completing the repairs that had been requested of him for that particular computer in May of this year.

An investigation was initiated by Hostetler, and with the assistance of the Indiana State Police Cyber Crime Unit, a forensic review of the computer was conducted and allegedly revealed over 3000 images of child pornography that had been searched for and viewed via the internet.

On Wednesday, October 7th, Hostetler executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of South Sherman Street in LaGrange at which time a second computer was seized. The homeowner, Richard Marks, 63, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and is preliminarily facing three counts of Child Exploitation, a Class D Felony. He is currently incarcerated in the LaGrange County Jail and this case remains under investigation by Hostetler and the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office. Assisting Hostetler was the LaGrange Police Department, the LaGrange County Sheriff Department and the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office.
