LAGRANGE, Ind. (WANE) The town of LaGrange Clerk-Treasurer Michael D. Rowlison was arrested and charged with two felony counts of theft and a charge of official misconduct. He was released on Tuesday after posting a $12,000 bond.

According to court documents, Rowlison allegedly admitted using town funds for personal items. He admitted to buying a a portable battery power pack and a trailer tailgate lift assistance equipment with a town credit card. Police did report finding these items at his home at the 400 block of Poplar Street.

According to the documents, he told investigators he had been taking items from LaGrange for about three to five years. He didn't know how many items he had taken.

Rowlison told investigators he had a problem, that when he saw something, he had to take it.
