WARSAW, Ind. (WANE) A Warsaw couple in currently in custody at the Whitely County Jail on numerous charges, including an armed robbery in Leesburg on Friday.
The couple was arrested on Friday night by officers that stopped to investigate their stopped van.
Christopher Alan Gressley, 30, and Anita Lynn Moore, 28, both of Warsaw, were both found to have suspended driver's licenses. The officers on the scene also found two small children in the van that appeared to not have been properly cared for.
An Inventory of the van also yielded synthetic marijuana devices. Gressley and Moore were taken into custody and transported to the Whitley County Jail. The two children were taken into protective custody.
On Saturday, officials discovered a possible connection between the couple and Friday's armed robbery at the Leesburg Freedom Express convenience store .
South Whitley officers had found knife belonging to Gressley that then determined to have been knife used in Friday's hold-up.
Gressley and Moore confessed to being involved in the armed robbery on Friday while being interviewed by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives at the Whitley County Jail.
Gressley and Moore are facing preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent, possession of a controlled substance/synthetic cannabinoid, and possession of paraphernalia. Preliminary charges of felony robbery while armed with a deadly weapon are being issued by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. Gressley is also facing charges with driving while suspended.
Gressley is being held on a $27,500 bond and Moore on a $24,000 bond.
