FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -   Fort Wayne Community Schools told NewsChannel 15 there have been a lot of rumors about potential violence at Wayne High School since Friday's early morning bomb threat. FWCS Public Information Officer Krista Stockman said none of the rumors have been substantiated.

There is extra security at the school. Parents are allowed to pick up children but it is not encouraged as, Stockman said, it is a process that tends to feed itself.

Early morning bomb threat

The search of Wayne High School ended around 8:00 a.m. after a bomb threat was called into a local radio station.

Police on scene told us someone called in a bomb threat to WOWO around 7:10 Friday morning.

WOWO reporter Kylie Havens was on the scene at Wayne High School and told NewsChannel 15 the caller said there were 3 bombs inside the school. Havens also said the caller pretended to be the Joker from the Batman series.

Public Information Officer for the Allen County Sheriff's Department Jeremy Tinkel was on the scene with officers and told NewsChannel 15 the school was cleared by school staff and teachers that cleared their respective areas.

Students were kept at the football field until the building was cleared. Police said nothing was found inside the building. Just after 8:00 a.m., police allowed students back in the building.
