FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a bank robbery at the Chase Bank at 6704 E State Blvd. They were called to the scene around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to Fort Wayne Police Department Public Information Officer Raquel Foster, the suspect did not have a weapon. Foster said he handed a bank employee a note demanding cash.
The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Foster said he ran towards a nearby apartment complex and may have got into a vehicle and taken off.
No Fort Wayne Community Schools are officially on lockdown but leaders at Haley Elementary School and Blackhawk Middle School were advised to keep their kids inside for a short time but have since been cleared.
FWPD quickly sent out still images(below) of a suspect and a person of interest who was in the bank at the time of the robbery. The person of interest has been identified and police are now calling her a witness.
Anyone who knows the identity of the suspect pictured below is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 260 436-STOP (7867).
This incident remains under investigation by the Northeast Indiana Bank Robbery Task Force. This task force is composed of investigators with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Sheriff Department, Indiana State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Police do not believe the suspect in the Chase Bank robbery is the same man who robbed the Burger Dairy on St. Joseph Blvd. Tuesday.
