Attempted robbery at Chase on Coldwater Road

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Police said a man attempted to rob Chase Bank at 3810 Coldwater Road at around 3:20 Friday.

Witnesses reported that a man entered the bank, approached the teller, and presented a note that demanded money.

Police said the suspect was unable to get any money and he fled northbound from the bank on foot.

According to police, no weapons were observed and there were no injuries. Bank customers were present during the incident.

Police said a canine unit tracked the suspect north from the bank, through a nearby mobile home park.

Anyone knowing the identity or whereabouts of this attempted robbery suspect should contact police at (260) 427-1222, or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-STOP (7867). A cash reward is possible for information received.
