FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police responded to an armed robbery at the Burger Dairy store at 1450 St. Joe Blvd. on Tuesday.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, a man and a woman entered the convenience store around 12 p.m. The woman pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at a male employee and the two demanded cash.
The man grabbed the undisclosed amount of cash and they two left the store. They were seen driving away in a gold or tan vehicle, similar to a Ford Contour, with Indiana plates.
Description of the male suspect: male, black, about 5'10." Seen wearing white pants, black hoodie and white shoes
Description of the female suspect: female, black, about 5'2." Seen wearing a grey sweatshirt, white undershirt, black pants, white shoes, and a red bandana over her face
Police said the suspects in the Burger Dairy armed robbery are not the suspects involved in the robbery at Chase bank earlier in the day on Tuesday. The Chase bank at 6704 E State Blvd. was robbed around 10:30 a.m. It is located about five miles from the Burger Dairy store.
The two suspects had been seen pacing back and forth on the sidewalk outside of the store before the robbery. A detective on the scene believes they were waiting for customers to leave.
An employee told NewsChannel 15 that the store gets robbed all the time and he didn't think today's armed robbery was a "big deal."
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers at 260 436-STOP (7867).
