FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police said there was an attempted armed robbery in the parking lot of the Colony Bay apartments Saturday night.
Police said a couple was approached by two men in the parking lot. One was carrying what was described as a "long-style" gun.
The couple was able to run into the building and lock the doors. The suspects didn't take any items from the couple.
The male victim told police he was hit with the gun, but there was no visible injury.
One of the suspects was described as about 6'1" with a thin build. He was wearing a dark blue hooded jacket.
Police couldn't say if this incident was related to the recent string of armed robberies in apartment complexes across Fort Wayne. But, in the other robberies two men approached people in the parking lots and sometimes forced their way into the apartment. Colony Bay is one of the locations of the apartment robberies earlier this week.
