Due to the nature of these charges, Brady Rodriguez's case was direct filed to adult court, even though he is a juvenile.

Michelle Rodriguez, 42, of Berne, who is Brady's mother, faces one conspiracy to commit armed robbery charge, which is a Class B felony.

According to court documents, the four people were in Rodriguez's home in Berne when they planned to rob Amish buggies in rural Adams County because they needed money to move to Fort Wayne and buy cocaine.

The three boys drove a Chevy Malibu up to the buggies, blocked them off so they could not pass, and got out of the car wearing gas masks and armed with baseball bats, according to the probable cause.

One woman, who was under the age of 18, was hit in her leg with the baseball bat and received minor injures.

It's not clear how the Rodriguezs knew Veliz and Lopez.
