ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The trial date for the man accused of murdering nine-year-old Aliahna Lemmon has not been set.
Michael Plumadore, 39, made his second court appearance Wednesday morning. A trial date was expected to be scheduled during that hearing but both the defense and prosecution agreed to postpone the setting to February 27.
Several sheriff deputies once again escorted Plumadore from jail into the courtroom which was less crowded compared to his first time in court two weeks prior. Plumadore made no comment to media during the escort. In court, he sat with his head lowered, looking at the floor for the entirety of the Wednesday hearing.
Plumadore's initial court appearance was on January 4. Dozens of Allen County officers were on hand when he was moved to the courthouse because of threats against his safety. Many of the officers were stationed around the courtroom during that hearing as an extra precaution.
The judge entered a not guilty plea on the defendant's behalf.
Attorneys Anthony S. Churchward and Mark A. Thoma were appointed by the Allen County Public Defender’s Office to represent Plumadore.
