FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Police responded to a report of a shooting at the 400 block W. Coliseum Blvd. around 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
According to Officials on the scene, the shooting was accidental. It happened in a car with two men. One man was shot in the leg, he was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the victim was in the passenger seat of the car when he got shot.
FWPD said the victim had bought a firearm at a nearby gun store and began to handle it in the car. The gun discharged and he shot himself in the leg.
This incident remains under investigation with the City of Fort Wayne Police Department.
