FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a credit union robbery.
Just after 4:15 Friday evening, officers were dispatched to the Freedom Financial Federal Credit Union at 1802 Inwood Drive on a report of a possible robbery.
When they arrived they learned three men had entered the bank. One of them served as a lookout while the other two demanded money from the tellers.
One of the suspects was reportedly armed and jumped behind the counter.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, all of the men ran off on foot in a northbound direction.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department called in one of its K-9 units and tracked the scent to a lot at the intersection of East Coliseum Boulevard and East State Boulevard.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, all three men where wearing dark-colored clothing and ski masks.
-Suspect Description 1: White male, approximately 5'5" in height, described as having a small build;
-Suspect Description 2: White male, approximately 5'7" - 5'8" in height, described as having a medium build;
-Suspect Description 3: Description not available at this time.
- Suspect Vehicle Description: dark-colored, two-door sedan with tinted windows.
There were no customers inside the credit union when the robbery occurred and no one was injured.
Back in November, two men tried to rob this same credit union but where unsuccessful after a customer elbowed one of them.
