2 meth labs, pot found during search

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – An Angola man was arrested for five different charges after police allegedly found meth, pot and paraphernalia while searching his home Thursday morning.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, deputies arrived at a home in the 700 block of N. Martha Street in Angola around 9:30 a.m. to serve a search warrant.

While inside, officers found two ‘one-pot’ meth labs as well as meth, marijuana, precursors to manufacture meth and paraphernalia.

As a result, James Hendrix, 41, was arrested on preliminary charges of:

- Manufacturing methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a family housing complex – Class A Felony
- Possession of more than 3 grams of methamphetamine within a 1000 feet of a family housing complex – Class A Felony
- Possession of marijuana – Class A Misdemeanor
- Possession of paraphernalia – Class A Misdemeanor
- Maintaining a common nuisance – Class D Felony.

The residence was within 1000 feet of Elliott Manner, a family housing complex. Hendrix was being held on a preliminary bond of $210,000. Hendrix is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing on Friday February 10, 2012.
