FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The charges are adding up against the Fort Wayne teen, accused of stabbing another student in the school cafeteria. In addition to the two Battery charges, the 14-year-old Concordia Lutheran High School student now faces Attempted Murder.
According to a spokesperson for the Allen County Juvenile Center, Jamie Mann, the teen appeared in court Friday morning to see prosecutors have added a new charge of Attempted Murder.
The charges stem from an incident at Concordia back in January. The teen allegedly stabbed 17-year-old Billy Baker in the neck with a knife.
Students have said that Baker and the teen knew each other through band. The two apparently had a verbal disagreement earlier in the week.
In addition to that new charge, the state's also asked that the teen be tried as an adult. The court will decide if that should happen at another hearing scheduled for June 11, 2010.
