FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Kroger store at 1125 W. State Boulevard in Fort Wayne celebrated a grand reopening Thursday, after a $4.4 million remodel.
According to Kroger, the multi-million dollar investment focuses on giving its customers exactly what they want to see in their store. The W. State Boulevard store updates include:
- Relocated pharmacy and added walk-up window
- New Nature’s Market
- New Wine Department
- Modified vestibule to add new cart storage
- New beverage center and seating area
- Removed ceiling and added colorful value décor
- New sales floor lighting
- All new deli/bakery departments
- All new floral & produce departments
- Modified meat department with added new cases
- New glass doors for frozen food
- Expanded dairy cooler and all new dairy cases
- New self-checkouts
- Renovated customer and associates restrooms
- New shelving throughout the store
- Retail space of 61,130 square feet
“Our solid success in the marketplace allows us to make a significant number of economic and work force investments in our stores this year. These investments allow us to continue providing quality products, competitive prices and outstanding customer service, while working hard to be supportive partners in the local neighborhoods we serve,” said President of Kroger Central Division, Bob Moeder.
During the celebration, Kroger officials contributed $250 each to the Make a Wish Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House, $500 to The Queen of Angels School, $1,000 to the Community Transportation Network and $8,483 from our Share Your Feast Food Drive to the Community Harvest Food Bank.
