New Lassus sells E30

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A new place to fill up in Allen County is offering a new type of fuel.

On Thursday, a new Lassus Handy Dandy station opened up on Dupont Road across from Parkview North Hospital.

The store not only sells regular unleaded fuel, but also a new hybrid mix called E30.

That's a blend of 30 percent ethanol and 70 percent gasoline.

E30 can be used in many flex fuel vehicles and officials said it is not only cleaner burning, but also is often cheaper than regular unleaded gasoline.

Lassus Handy Dandy President Todd Lassus said, "Lassus has been blending their own ethanol additive
fuels since the early 1980s, and we have always strived to be on the leading edge of new advances in fuel technology. We like to support our communities and businesses. It just makes sense to embrace the corn farmers contribution to the biofuel industry".

The station also sells E85, which is 15 percent gasoline and 85 percent ethanol.
