FREMONT, Ind. (WANE) - The Ferry-Morse Seed Company is conducting mass layoffs and eventually closing its plant on Reed Road in Fremont.
According to company officials, Ferry-Morse was sold on May 18 and at that time half of the Ferry-Morse workforce across the country was let go. The remaining employees have been offered jobs by the new owner, Seed Holdings.
Seed Holdings is expected to terminate all remaining workers at the Fremont facility no later than December 31, when the plant will close.
