FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Better Business Bureau of Northern Indiana said Friday it received a call from a Fort Wayne resident that people who said they were hired by the BBB were doing door-to-door surveys in an Aboite housing addition.
These ‘surveyors’ are asking questions about the age of a home, questions about siding, windows and baths and are carrying a clipboard with sheets of paper with the BBB logo on it.
“BBB does not send people door-to-door ever to do a survey,” said Marjorie Stephens, Director of Communications. “If someone approaches you or comes to your door telling you that BBB has hired them to do a survey, and you can get any bit of information, please let us know. Unfortunately, we don’t have much information to go on, but it is important that residents are made aware that this is happening.”
Stephens asks that residents who are approached and out of harm’s way, to try getting a name, a license number or anything that can be used to contact BBB and law enforcement officials.
