CELINA, OH (WANE) - A Dayton man rescued two men who tried to swim to shore after crashing their boat.
Celina Police Department received a call around 2:42 p.m. about a distressed boat, just 800 yards east of the spillway at the west end of Grand Lake.
Before the first man could reach the shore he was picked up by a private boat.
Dan Mann heard the two men in trouble from the owner of Bella’s Italian Grill. He then brought both men to the emergency crews, off of West Bank Road.
The two men were treated for injuries and were later identified as Terrance Cole, 37, and Paul Pitts, 23.
During a police investigation, they discovered Cole had active warrants from Van Wert County.
Before police could arrest Cole, he was taken to Van Wert Hospital for medical problems.
