FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne detectives are working on a sexual assault investigation involving a Blackhawk Middle School teacher who was removed from the classroom.
A letter from the school's Principal, Tim Matthias, was sent home with students Friday addressing the situation.
According to the letter, the issue is a personnel matter and Principal Matthias could not get into too much detail.
Matthias did say the school received information that prompted them to remove a teacher from the classroom.
The letter stated, "We are committed to safety and well-being of our student and will not tolerate behavior that does not conform to that goal."
The letter also encourages parents to remind their children to talk to an adult in the school if he or she sees or hears something that makes them uncomfortable or seems out of line.

The Allen County prosecutor's office said no formal charges had been filed as of Monday afternoon.
NewsChannel 15 has also learned police are also conducting an investigation at Wayne High School.
FWCS Spokesman Krista Stockman told NewsChannel 15 a letter similar to the one that went out about the Blackhawk teacher will go out Tuesday. Superintendent Dr. Wendy Robinson said there is not a growing problem in teacher/student conflicts.
"There's no quota. There's no way that I can control something that's going to happen, but the bottom line is what we do with it when we find out," she said. "Morally we just don't believe you hide situations like that."
