ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) - An Angola woman now faces charges in Indiana and Michigan for alleged sexual misconduct with a minor. Dawn Marie Schwartzengraber is accused of having sex with a male student at the high school where she taught for the past two years.

Schwartzengraber, 37, was arrested February 5 by the Indiana State Police.  On Tuesday, she was arrested by Michigan authorities and charged with various charges of criminal sexual conduct.  It's alleged she had sexual relations with a student at Camden-Frontier High School where she taught.  Schwarzengraber has since been suspended by the school district.

A detective with the Indiana State Police was contacted by the Michigan State Police regarding allegations against Schwartzengraber.  A detective with the Michigan State Police began the investigation of Schwartzengraber after receiving a complaint in November, 2009 from the 17-year-old student's parents totally unrelated to the sexual misconduct allegations.  After looking into that complaint, the detective became aware of the sexual misconduct.

The sexual misconduct allegedly took place over the past two years at Schwartzengraber's home in Angola and inside vehicles in both Indiana and Michigan.

The Camden-Frontier Schools web site listed Schwartzengraber as a teacher of U.S. Government/Economics, U.S. History and Psychology.   Camden-Frontier High School is located northeast of Angola in Michigan.

Investigators don't have reason to believe Schwartzengraber was involved with any other students.

She's scheduled to appear in Hillsdale District Court in Michigan on March 3.
