INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - One of two people who died in a Kentucky plane crash is from Indiana.  David Miller, 50, of Portland was flying it.

According to the chief pilot from the Portland, Ind.-based Miller Aviation, a small twin-engine plane registered to his company went down while it attempted to land near a small airport in eastern Kentucky in Pike County Wednesday. That's about two and a half hours east of Lexington.

Two people were killed when the Cessna 310 crash around 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.  The pilot, Miller, was the owner of Miller Aviation.

Kaye Charles with Pike County Emergency Management said the plane went down after attempting to land at the regional airport in Pikeville.

The chief pilot said the crash happened during rough weather.

FAA spokeswoman, Kathleen Bergen, said the plane took off from Dayton, Ohio’s Wright Brothers Airport and was destined for Pikeville.

The Pike County Coroner, Russel Roberts, identified the other crash victim as David Cowherd, 70, of Centerville, Ohio.
