FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Indiana’s top two candidates for U.S. Senate hit the road trying to rally last minute support Friday.
Republican Dan Coats toured and spoke to employees at Deister Machine Company, at 1933 E. Wayne Street in Fort Wayne.
“Hopefully what I’ve heard from people across Indiana will play out in a win Tuesday. Clearly people have been unhappy the last two years with Obama. I think we’re in a real transition period now, sorting out the future of this country,” Dan Coats said. “We’ve had two very different visions presented as the best way to go forward. I think this election and the next are going to set a lot for future generations.”
Coats is running against Democrat Brad Ellsworth. Both are vying for Evan Bayh’s seat. Bayh announced back in February that he would not seek re-election.
Brad Ellsworth was in Terre Haute meeting with Indiana State University students, faculty, and local community members to answering questions. Ellsworth also encouraged Hoosiers to vote.
This year’s midterm election is Tuesday, November 2.
News Channel 15 and WANE.com will have the latest election results as they come in Tuesday.
