Avilla man arrested on child molesting charge

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)-- - The Indiana State Police arrested a 53 year old Avilla man Friday on a preliminary charge of child molesting.

Police think Frederick W. Weese molested a family member. According to police, the victim and her family contacted the Noble County Division of Family and Children. They said that Weese committed inappropriate sexual conduct at a house in Ligonier back in 2002, when the victim was then 8 years old.

On Friday, August 27, the Division of Family and Children contacted the Indiana State Police. They investigated and made the arrest one week later.

Weese was taken to and incarcerated in the Noble County Jail pending an initial hearing.
