FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Salvation Army in Fort Wayne is asking for help with its Angel Tree program.

This year, the program saw a 43 percent increase in families requesting aid in buying presents for their children.

The way it works is people pick up a tag with a child on it and what they want for Christmas.

Then you buy the gift and the Salvation Army gets it to the family, but there are still a lot of tags left.

The Angel Tree deadline's been extended to December 12th.

You can get tags from the Salvation Army and at Macy's, J-C Penny's, and Wal-Mart.
