FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Three candidates running for the 3rd congressional district seat squared off in debate, Friday, tackling issues that affect people with disabilities.
The forum took place at the Abundant Life Church.
On the ticket: Democrat Tom Hayhurst, Libertarian Scott Wise, and Republican Marlin Stutzman.
"You can certainly tell whose done their homework," said Nancy Gasparini, director of independent living services at the League for the Blind and Disabled. She's grateful all three candidates took the time to address issues that are often overlooked.
"They've just addressed a group of people that they may have lost their votes prior to this, because they felt that the politicians weren't interested in what their views and viewpoints are," said Gasparini. "People with disabilities are interested in knowing what the different politicians say."
