17 indicted in Van Wert drug trafficking bust

VAN WERT, Ohio (WANE) - Two drug investigations conducted by the Van Wert Police Department have been completed and have resulted in 17 people being indicted on 40 counts of trafficking in drugs or trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances.

Van Wert Police Department Detective Sergeant Jeffrey Blackmore released information Friday that the investigations began in May and September of 2010. Various types of drugs, including heroin, morphine, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, fentanyl, klonopin and some counterfeit controlled substances were seized by the department during the duration of the investigations.

The following people were indicted by the March 2011 session of the Grand Jury for the following drug trafficking offenses:

Amber Baker – Two counts of F-5 Trafficking in Heroin

Zachary Baker – Three counts of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin in the vicinity of a school

Brandon Barnes – Two counts of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin in the vicinity of a school

Alyssa Bebout – One count of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin in the vicinity of a child

Jordan Black – Two counts of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin the vicinity of a school, Two counts F-5 Trafficking in Heroin, one count of F-4 Trafficking a Counterfeit Controlled Substance in the vicinity of a school, one count of F-4 Possession of Heroin

Tasha Comment – Two counts of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin and one count of F-4 Trafficking in Methamphetamine

Nathan Dunn – One count of F-3 Trafficking in Drugs (Fentanyl) in the vicinity of a school and one count of F-4 Trafficking in a Counterfeit Controlled Substance in the Vicinity of a school

Ryan King – Two counts of F-3 Trafficking in Drugs (Fentanyl) in the vicinity of a school

Virginia Schrader – One count of F-4 Trafficking in Drugs (Lorazepam) in the vicinity of a school and one count of Trafficking in Drugs (Morphine) in the vicinity of a school.

Karsten Stoller – One counts of F-5 Trafficking in Heroin and one F-5 count of Trafficking in Drugs (Klonopin)

Joe Quevedo – Two counts of F-5 Trafficking in Heroin

Megan Wannemacher – One count of F-4 Trafficking in Heroin in the vicinity of a school or child

Stacy Young – Two counts of F-5 Trafficking in Heroin

Jason Lamb of Van Wert and Allison Hoblet of Van Wert were also taken into custody by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on Saturday, March 5, 2011 after the Van Wert Police Department received information that Lamb and Hoblet were in route to the bus station in Lima, Ohio in an attempt to leave the area.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was contacted, located the vehicle and was able to get it stop at which time Lamb and Hoblet were taken into custody.

Lamb was indicted on three counts of Felony 4 Trafficking in Heroin in the vicinity of a child. Hoblet, who resided at the same residence as Lamb in Van Wert, was indicted on two counts of Felony 5 Permitting Drug Abuse.

Lamb and Hoblet, along with the other 13 people arrested on Friday, will be arraigned at the Van Wert County Common Pleas Court on Monday.

As part of the investigation, two motor vehicles that were used in the commission of some of the offenses have been seized by the Van Wert Police Department.

The Drug Investigations were conducted by the Van Wert Police Department Detective Bureau with the assistance of the Van Wert Police Department Uniform Division, the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department and the Van Wert County Prosecutor’s Office.
