FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Allen County Solid Waste Management District is set to host its annual “Tire Amnesty Day” on Saturday, October 1st from 9 a.m. until noon.
During the event, Allen County residents will have the opportunity to properly dispose of old unwanted tires.
Those tires will then be recycled into usable products such as garden hoses, rubberized asphalt and playground cover.
Residents can drop off their tires at the Citilink Offices at 801 Leesburg Road in Fort Wayne.
Tire Amnesty Day Guidelines:
-Car, Truck and bike tires will be accepted.
-Tractor tires and off road vehicle tires will not be accepted.
-Water and rims must be removed from tires.
-Limit 20 tires per household.
-This event is open to Allen County residents only.
-Tires from businesses will not be accepted.
Fees:
-Tires 1-4 are $1.00
-Tires 5-12 are $1.00 each
-Tires 13-20 are &7.00 each
