INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Indiana has recorded its 59th case of fungal meningitis linked to injections of a recalled back pain medication.

The Indiana State Department of Health reported the new total Tuesday. The latest total compares with 56 cases of the rare disease in Indiana last week.

The agency has not released any information on where the cases are located.

State officials say clinics in six Indiana cities received tainted steroids traced to the New England Compounding Center of Framingham, Mass. The steroid is linked to a multistate outbreak that's sickened 480 people and caused 33 deaths.

The Indiana clinics that received tainted medication are located in South Bend, Elkhart, Columbus, Evansville, Fort Wayne and Terre Haute.
