FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Local business leaders and Mad Anthony Officials completed a community-donation-match program that raised a total of $740,000 for Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House.

The donation-match program was spearheaded by Bruce Dye, president of Heritage Food Service Group, which served as the sponsor of the 2012 Mad Anthonys Charity Classic for Children in June, which raised $140,000 for the charity.

Dye pledged to match any funds raised through the program up to a set amount. That match, along with the funds raised through the community and the money raised through the Charity Classic for Children, brought the 2012 total to $740,000. Mad Anthonys members and leaders presented checks for the amount raised at an event Wednesday.

About the Mad Anthonys Charity Classic

The annual Mad Anthonys Charity Classic has been a Fort Wayne tradition since its founding in 1957. In 2007, the Mad Anthonys began a partnership with Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House, dedicating 90 percent of its fundraising efforts to the organization.

About the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House

Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House provides nearby lodging and support services for families of children undergoing pediatric and neonatal treatment. Because Fort Wayne has become a health care hub for northern Indiana, southern Michigan and western Ohio, this function is critical to families of children with severe illnesses and conditions.

About the Mad Anthonys

The Mad Anthonys is a charitable organization founded in 1957 and comprised of business leaders and professionals from northeast Indiana. The Mad Anthonys Charity Classic golf event is one of the country’s premier charity golf events, raising millions of dollars for charitable organizations in Fort Wayne.
