According to a New Year's resolutions survey by FC Organizational Products LLC , the top 2013 resolutions have not changed much since 2012. Overall satisfaction with life was also up slightly since 2012.

The top four resolutions for both years were to become more physically fit, improve financial condition, improve health and losing weight was number four.

The fifth and sixth most popular resolutions were new to the list in 2013. Respondents said they wanted to read more/become more educated (5) and improve work habits/career situation (6).

The survey also asked respondents which resolutions were abandoned first and which ones were pursued the longest; losing weight was the top in both the categories with 31 percent of people saying it was the first resolution to be abandoned and 41 percent of people saying they pursued that resolution the longest.

When asked what was the most helpful method they had to pursue resolutions, respondents said sharing goals with friends and asking for their support (41 percent), tracking goals in a planner (25 percent) and keeping a journal (18 percent) were the most helpful.

Overall satisfaction with life increased among respondents since 2012. On a scale of one to ten (ten being extremely satisfied), the average for 2012 was 7.3, up from 7.0 in 2012.
