DNR seeks to clear up confusion over bag limit

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Department of Natural Resources is trying to clear up confusion over how many fish or wild animals anglers and hunters are allowed to kill and keep on a daily basis.
The DNR says the problem is confusion over the daily bag limit and the daily possession limit. The bag limit is the number of individual animals that may be taken on a day in a given season. The possession limit is generally twice the daily bag limit.
The DNR says confusion arises over whether the possession limit applies only in the field, or if it includes game stored in a freezer at home. The proposed change would exempt processed game that's kept at a hunter's home.
The Natural Resources Commission has adopted the preliminary rule and is accepting public comment on the proposal on its website .
