FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The Higher Grounds coffee shop is leaving its Wayne Street home at the end of the month and a franchised sandwich shop is moving in.

According to Higher Grounds Midtowne manager, Scott Herndon, the shop’s last day at the location will be on October 28 and Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches will be moving in on November 1.

“It has been a great ride, but all good things must come to an end. I am just grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to work for the Yarnelle Family and Anthony Wayne Vending, franchise owners of the coffee shop,” read a post on Herndon’s Facebook page Friday.

There are other locations in the city that will remain open including those on St. Joe Road, the IPFW campus, in Leo and those associated with the Lassus company.
